A milder variety of bitter melon. A popular staple in Asian cuisine for its use in stir fries (especially with eggs, pork, or tofu) soups, curries, and stuffed dishes. Fruits grow on sprawling 12’ vines that will flood your trellis! Warted, heavily textured, pearl white skin are used in Asian, African, and Caribbean cuisines; shoots and leaves are also edible. Climbing vine is large and produces yellow flowers that can be harvested as leafy shoots.
Bitter Gourd is great for stir-frying, soups & stews, stuffed dishes (Bharwan Karela), deep fried snakes (Karela chips), salads, curries, etc.
