A long, red-purple, spindle-shaped onion with a mild, sweet flesh. A fantastic onion variety from a small Mediterranean town in Italy. A bulbing, intermediate-day onion that is suitable for growing in greenhouses, garden plots, and raised beds. 

 

Also known as Red Gold of Calabria, Tropea, or Italian Red Spindle. Bulbs can grow to 6" long. 

 

Day neutral or intermediate day onion means it starts forming bulbs at around 12 hours of sunlight a day making them versatile to various climate zones, particularly performing well in the Southern United States and Mediterranean climates.
